Speaking of Rob Bell..
There is a church not too far from us that recently added a $25 million addition to their building.
Our local newspaper ran a front-page story not too long ago about a study revealing that one in five people in our city lives in poverty.
This is a book about those two numbers.
Rob Bell is coming out with a new book called Jesus Wants to Save Christians: A Manifesto for the Church in Exile. I almost crapped my pants when I read the quote above. Ok, not really.
I’ve got two of Rob’s previous books, both I thought were mostly good. I emphasize the mostly. “Why?”, you ask? Ask me later.
I already pre-ordered my copy.
UPDATE: Oh crap! October 2008!

Yo bro, just givin you the heads up! We`re currently in Kyoto… I have stories and pictures, I just need to find a place to hook up my macbook to the net. I`ve wanted to keep a blog of this trip, but haven`t been able to find a place to get online consistently yet…
Talk to ya soon, homie!

(this is mike)
I did see this post on your blog. He did a series (8 or 9, I think) of talks with that title (I hate the term ‘messages’) that I downloaded form the Mars Hill website. If this book is based on those talks, then you should download them for a preview. there were a few guest speakers during that time.

I thought it was worth the $8.
