My Legs Would Fall Off
This weekend my sister sent me an email containing links to the photos of the triathlon she just ran. Let me just say right here and now that both of my sisters are totally bad-ass. Andie runs marathons regularly and talks about jogging 20 miles like its no big deal. She also climbed Mount Baker last week. She probably jogged up it. Becca does triathlons, ironman competitions, and rides her bike across Nebraska (literally) as often as she gets the chance. There was talk last year of the Olympics but I haven’t heard anything lately. And I mainly just mention it because I’m so proud of both of them.
Once in a while I’ll announce to someone in my family how I’ve started jogging or how I just got a bike. How silly I am.
Sometimes people seriously ask where I went wrong. With all the athletes in the family, I’m the one in the family who grows a beard, recites poetry, and makes things move on a computer screen? Impressive. Maybe thats why I’m the unmarried member of the family, because when I flex, girls giggle. Thats a joke. Its ok to giggle.

ah amos, how easily i relate to this.
dad = track coach.
big brother = also a triathlete.
little brother = college track star.
mom = hour a day at the gym.
and me? calloused finger tips.
well, i’m getting much better at these these days. at least i seem to share their good genes.
@daniel — hah.. I remember you mentioning the rest of your family. I guess we’ll just start the “Move To Portland and Be An Artist Club”.
i have such a love hate relationship with running….
I don’t think you went wrong anywhere. You’re kind of a bad-ass yourself. :)
I searched for ‘Triathlon Photos’ and found your site – well done!
